Dr. Sunil Gupta was born in Ithaca, New York, but relocated to India with his family when he was only two years old. There, his parents encouraged him to attend veterinary school—Dr. Gupta has been enjoying the world of animal care ever since. He’s now been caring for pet patients for more than 34 years!
Dr. Gupta graduated from veterinary school in 1984, then launched his career in private practice. He worked under other veterinarians at a number of clinics for 15 years before deciding to open his very own practice—that’s when Aboite Animal Clinic was born!
Aside from his passions within veterinary medicine, Dr. Gupta likes practicing his photography skills, playing and watching sports—he represented his university’s table tennis team four times during college, and now enjoys golfing—and spending time with his family at home. Dr. Gupta has two children, a son and a daughter, and also shares his home with three dogs: Linus, a Maltese who gets his name from Dr. Gupta’s first name spelled backward; a rescued Bichon named Oscar; and Lillie the Maltipoo.

My name is Courtney , I have worked for Aboite Animal Clinic for 3 years . Aboite Animal clinic is a very busy clinic, fast paced but still feels small as we know the names of our patients as if they are own . I work with some of the greatest people in vet med including our doctor. Dr. Gupta has taught me a lot and is very passionate about what he does and it reflects in the work we do. I have three dogs of my own and couldn’t imagine working in a different field . I just love the animals and the people I work with.
I love being able to constantly learn while on the job at Aboite Animal Clinic. I am currently a student at Purdue Fort Wayne focusing on ecology and evolution, and am looking forward to a future of helping animals. I have three beautiful cats at home that keep me entertained, and I am looking forward to meeting your fur babies as well!
